Our philosophy

Written into the first transactions. It cannot be rewritten.

NÝR — meaning NÝR is a free, ownerless unit of time and mutual aid. It is a neighborhood voucher — like a stamp booklet — not a speculative chip and not a bank token. It counts time given and time returned, and may stand for a service or a good, without a master. There is no company. There is no foundation. There is no named issuer. There is no premine sitting in a known pocket. The emitter remains hidden; the coin remains anonymous. Nobody owns NÝR. Nobody steers it. Nobody is entitled to license, tax, or switch it off. This preamble is written into the first transactions of the chain. It cannot be rewritten.
NÝR — how it works The ledger is private. Amounts and purposes travel with a transfer for the parties to that transfer. Spectators, indexers, banks, and states see an opaque movement, not a household's books. Wallets are born from a twenty-four-word seed drawn from a pool of 2,048 Latin words. Every node and every wallet carries that library. A node may hand the wallet interface and the node software to whoever connects and asks — the network copies itself. There is no cap on the number of coins. New NÝR are time: a node emits them while it works — electricity spent, a computer given to the network. The operator names a wallet that receives that work. Blocks order the ledger; they do not print money. Later, further tokens, contracts, and NFTs may move from node to node with the software itself. The network begins on machines its people already have. Onion comes when the bones are set. Anyone may run a node. Anyone may leave.
NÝR — aim NÝR is released the way a tool is left on a table: for anyone, captured by no one. It is meant to belong to all users and therefore to none — a self-carrying, open system that spreads by the will of its community until its starting point is no longer a fact anyone can usefully hold. It exists so that ordinary kindness among neighbors need not pass through a gatekeeper. It exists so that a unit of time-credit cannot be inflated by a press, frozen by a compliance desk, or rewritten by a ministry. It is intended as a thorn in the eye of elites, banks, and power-hungry governments: a ledger they did not charter, cannot regulate, and do not rule. Use it for favors. Keep it free.
